Midlands-based Fitzgerald Contractors have secured the contract to undertake the £2.5m improvement works to the Kidderminster Road Roundabout in Hagley.

The contract will provide access to CALA Homes Wychbury Fields site, a unique development of 2, 3, 4 & 5 bedroom homes located in one of Worcestershire’s most prosperous towns, designed around a village green concept within a parkland setting.

Once highway works are completed they will improve the traffic conditions at the junction and new signalling will help traffic flow. New crossing points for pedestrians and cyclists will also be installed.

Nick Coley, Fitzgerald Contractors Managing Director said of the development: “We are delighted to be working with CALA Homes on this prestigious project.

“Fitzgerald Contractors will provide CALA homes a ‘single point of delivery’ for the highways works. The excellent relationships we have established with Worcestershire County Council enable us to manage the complex process of traffic management and approvals, ensuring the works are delivered safely and with the minimum of disruption. We have been happy to take on the role of Principle Contractor with full responsibility for the completion and coordination of the Highway Works.

“The housing market is a key sector for us and provides significant opportunities, this scheme is a great illustration of the ‘added value’ we can offer to our Clients in the housing sector.”
