Are you fed up with how often you wear out your power tools and their batteries? Brushless technology aims to increase the life of both the power tool units and their batteries.

A standard motor contains carbon brushes which generate friction and noise as they rotate, limit the maximum speed of the motor and eventually wear out. From the perspective of a power tool this limits the life of a drill, the speed it can operate at and the life of a battery.

A brushless motor essentially turns the motor inside out putting the coil on a brushless motor, fixed on the outside, which dramatically improves the efficiency of the motor. It also makes the power tools quieter to run which could be an advantage for many construction workers when working in quieter environments, such as schools or hospitals.

The main disadvantage of brushless power tools is the initial cost is slightly higher, however we’re confident that in the long run the extra cost will be mitigated by the longer life of the tools themselves and their batteries.
