In news that demonstrates the strength of the recovery in the North West and the role the construction industry has to play in that recovery, developer and construction firm PHD1 has been given the green light for a major contract which will dramatically add to Liverpool city centre’s skyline.

Positioned in the north of the city centre, the North Point project in Pall Mall will be a mixed residential, office, retail and leisure scheme including a range of buildings with differing stature from 7 storeys up to 18 storeys.

The development will include the construction of 366 homes, office space and shops whilst retaining the old warehouse frontages at the site to maintain the architectural connection with the heritage of the area.

The scheme has been designed by local Liverpool architects BLOK for investment client Industrial Workshop (Pall Mall) with PHD1 expecting construction to commence in July this year with the whole development taking less than 3 years to complete.

Peter McInnes, PHD1 Chairman, said: ”This is a hugely exciting project for us and, we believe, for the city. North Point will establish itself as a distinct destination, open up a different kind of urban living and take the expansion of the city centre outwards in a new direction.”

“It also adds to our growing portfolio of development projects within the city which add up to some £600m worth of investment.”
