£40m Old Admiralty Building refit out to tender
The Department for Education (DfE) is about to move into the Grade 2 listed Old Admiralty Building in Westminster by summer in 2017, and project management firm Mace is looking for a contractor to carry out the £40m refurbishment.
The fit out of the 250,000 sq ft is due to start in November 2015 and Mace aims to have a company in place in the coming months.
The Cabinet Office is in the process of consolidating and modernising the government’s estate and the refurbishment of the Old
Admiralty Building will create a space in which 1,600 staff will be able to work. Currently the 1,600 staff work in leasehold office space.
Mace, working with BDP as lead designer and Hoare Lea, will be working closely with the DfE to deliver the project. It will provide CDM, cost consultancy, and full multi-disciplinary design services.
The building is to be designed and refurbished to achieve the BREEAM “Very Good” rating to offer high value for money.
Further information can be obtained from James Windsor at the Mace Group on 02035223000.
