The University of York is looking for construction companies to prequalify for two projects which are due to start in the first half of 2015.

The larger of the two projects is to complete the Hull York medical school building where the first phase of construction was completed by Shepherd Construction, and where the second phase will include the construction of a new atrium and the development of a bridge from the first floor to the second floor.

The university expects construction work on the £11m contract to begin before June in 2015.

As well as the Hull York Medical School building, the university also requires a contractor for a new £8m teaching facility, based at the edge of Spring Wood, between Derwent College and the Berrick Saul building, which will include a number of seminar and lecture theatres.
